A loan of $2,900 helped a member to buy various cereals ("niébé" beans, millet, groundnut).

Sop Khelcom Group's story

This solidarity group was reconstituted around six months ago and is made up of 14 women. They are all small-scale traders selling a variety of products. Maguette (shown in the inset on the left of the photo) is in charge of the group. She is 49 years old, married and mother to four children. She trades on a retail basis in the weekly "loumas" markets. This new loan will allow her not only to buy cereals (millet, groundnut and "niébé" beans) but to diversify and expand the products she sells. With the profits she generates from her business she would like to ensure a better quality of life for her family, by improving their food and looking after their health, for example.

In this group: Maguette, Amy Kane, Fatou, Mame Bousso, Bousso, Fatou, Fatma, Fatou, Selle, Mané, Coura, Ndew, Maguette, Faty
