Edguin Adan's story

Edguin Adán, 40, is single and has two children. He lives with his children who are 18 and 12 years old in Chillanes Canton, Bolívar Province.

The “Unión y Progreso la Colombia Baja” communal bank has 15 members and is located 90 minutes from the Cooperative. This communal bank is involved in farming activities: cocoa bean, rice, corn, soya, banana, orange, etc.

Edguin is a cocoa bean, rice, corn, soya and orange farmer. He makes his purchases and his sales every weekend in San José del Tambo.

He is requesting the loan to be able to buy seeds, manure and farming supplies and also to buy cocoa bean plants.

Support from the loan will help him meet his economic needs. He faces frequent challenges like competition and crop infestations.

His dream is to be able to buy himself a house to live in with his children. In his spare time he likes to go out on outings with his children.
