A loan of $850 helped to buy the merchandise (cosmetics) that she sells.

Elizabeth Margarita's story

Elizabeth is a 33 year old woman. She has two small children, ages seven and five. She is married, and her husband works as a driver. Her youngest child is in the first years of elementary school. The whole family lives in the Chiguilpe parish in the Santo Domingo canton. Santo Domingo is a canton in the Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas province, which is one of the most densely populated provinces in Ecuador. It has a great attraction because it has various monuments throughout the whole city. Among them is the monument to Indio Colorado, a sector known as Y del Colorado. Santo Domingo is an exceptional canton with its marvelous, hard-working, and entrepreneurial people who struggle untiringly for development and progress. They always receive tourists with open arms and take them to learn about the marvelous culture and environment.

Elizabeth sells cosmetic products. She tells us that she works all day collecting and selling. She believes the most difficult part of the work is “convincing the customer” because you need a lot of experience to do this.

Elizabeth wants to invest in merchandise in such a way that she would not only be able to show the products by catalog, but that the customers could see the actual products. That is why she came to Fundación Alternativa in order to request a loan. She says, “I like the payments terms they offer”. She wants to sell more and aspires to have a better life style.
