Lucila's story

Lucila is 54 years old and she is a strong woman. She is married to Juan, her husband of 15 years. They have 4 children together but only 3 of them live with them. They own their home and it is located in the locality of San Pedro de Cajas. Her financial situation is very complicated. Despite her advanced age, she continues to work for the support of her children. They are still in school. Additionally, her husband is has health issues and she needs to take care of him. Her primary activity is a small grocery store, selling basic consumer goods. Concurrently she knits wool sweaters in various colors and sizes. She sells them to the merchants who visit her constantly. "It's hard on my bones", she affirms when she was commenting on her osteoporosis condition. It is hard for her to move around. But despite her problems she continues to work for the sake of her children's future. She wants to provide them with an education and the quality of life that they deserve. She is a member of the communal bank "Telarmachay" and this is her second loan with MFP (Kiva Field Partner). She hopes to receive the support from each of you to continue on with her objectives. She promises to be on time with her loan payments.

Upon receiving her support, Lucila will invest the funds requested in the purchase of several skeins of wool for her knitting projects. She will also purchase basic consumer goods for her grocery store.
