Jannet's story

Jannet, 37, is married to Valerio and they have four children, two of which still live at home. They live in their own house in the town of San Pedro D. Cajas. Ever since she was a little girl she learned from her parents the beautiful craft of hand-knits. Since then she has turned it into her main pastime and means of income. She has four years' experience in her small shop where she sells a wiD. variety of garments such as caps, sweaters, ponchos and shawls.

She says that in the months of February, July and October the tourists visit the "comercial artesanal" (crafts shopping center) where Jannet's shop is located. She earns a good profit from the high demand. Also, not too long ago, she began selling infant clothing, bedspreads and blankets, as well as adult sweaters in the city of Oroya where she travels Monday through Thursday. Now her main goal is to increase her work capital to invest in her craft shop. She belongs to the communal bank "Talarmachay" and this is her sixth loan through MFP. She hopes she can count on your support to carry out her goals and she is committed to paying back the loan on time. Jannet will use the loan to buy a variety of sweaters and infant clothing.
