A loan of $500 helped to buy certified potato seed.

Andres's story

Andrés lives in the city of Estelí. He is 57 years old and has three children. He is a farmer. Andrés learned the basics at school. He learned how to read and write but the conditions of poverty in which he grew up did not allow him to continue studying. However, the commitment and effort that he puts into his work every day have meant that he has become a specialist in growing vegetables: a trade that he learned at a very young age. Andrés has been growing crops for 30 years. In addition, he also raises and sells livestock. He carries out this work during the off season for crop growing. He sells his crops in Managua and Estelí.

Andrés requested this loan to buy certified potato seeds. This investment will help him to acquire this seed more easily. He will be able to better maintain his crops and buy the supplies he needs to sow his crops. His next goal is to sow his own potato seed and harvest his own seed so that he no longer has buy it. This will enable him to provide his family with a better quality of life.
