Bertha Paulina's story

Mrs. Bertha is a member of the communal bank, "Stepping Strong." She lives in the outskirts of Cuenca which is the third most important city in the country. Since 1999 it has been the Cultural Heritage for Humanity due to it's agricultural and cultural beauty, and it's friendly and kind people.

Mrs. Bertha is 23 years old, married and has two children of 5 and 4 years of age. Her first son is in kindergarden. Her husband is an industrial mechanic. They do not own a home so they rent.

Mrs. Bertha sells a variety of clothes from her home or door to door and has been doing so for a year and a half. She works every evening from Monday to Saturday.

This is her second loan with the communal bank and she will use it to buy pants, blouses, shirts, and children's clothes to stock up her merchandise.

Her goal is to stabilize her business.
