Twubahe Group's story

Marie is a 26-year-old trader who lives in the town of Bukirasazi, in Gitega province, in the center of Burundi. She is married with 3 children, one of whom goes to primary school. She herself has no formal education. She has been running her own store for 15 years and sells various products including soap, palm oil, biscuits, sugar, beans and rice. She also farms.

Marie will use the loan of 570 000 Burundese francs to restock her store with products to sell for a good profit. She is a member of the Twubahe solidarity group.
