A loan of $1,525 helped a member to pay for more clothes to resell to customers on credit.

Mandiri 2 Group's story

Rini is 33 years old and married with two children. She is pictured on the far left of the photo. She has been selling clothes from her house and going door to door for the past five years. She is using the loan to increase her inventory and hopefully expand her business to generate enough income to someday open a clothing store in front of her house.

As her education was only through high school, it is important to her that her children stay in school, and her income helps pay for school fees. She hopes that this loan will improve the well-being of her family.

Some of the other group members will use their loans for selling snacks and a special Indonesian rice dish (nasi uduk).

In this group: Rini, Mariah, Sriyati, Hotipah, Ariani, Salbiyah, Wahyuningsih
