A loan of $800 helped to purchase two dairy cows and supplies to grow corn.

Juan Carlos's story

Juan is 33 years old, lives with his 68 year old mother, his life partner and a child.

He has been working in agriculture and livestock care for 12 years together with his older brother. It was his father who taught them this work in order that they could earn an honest living.

Juan has to travel to a city in the eastern part of the country in order to get the supplies he needs so he can do his work. Juan gets up every day at 5:00AM to graze the animals and later he works cultivating corn.

He is asking for a loan from Fundacion Campo in order to buy two dairy cows to obtain milk, and to grow corn. In this way Juan could sell the milk from the cows every day in his community and with this income could provide food to his family and buy agricultural supplies. Juan is the only provider for his family.

Juan lives with his mother, his life partner, and his child in a 4 x 5 square meter, very old, one-room adobe house, with a sheet metal roof. His dream is to build a brick house with rooms. He wants to save for his dream from the profits that he earns.
