Silas's story

Silas in 48 and the father of 3 children aged 18, 12 and 7. He has been in farming for 5 years in his home area of Nkubu in Central Kenya. His farm produces beans, bananas, and milk, all sold at the local market. Silas says that currently, the rains are not sufficient for farming.

Silas has made a loan request of 40,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to boost his dairy farming by purchasing a dairy cow. This is his third loan with Juhudi Kilimo after the first and second one of 25,000 KES and 20,000 KES respectively. He says the loan will help him acquire a better and more productive breed. He adds that he will use the income to educate his children.
