Sokha, a 33-year-old mother of three, two of whom are in school, while the third is just three years old, resides in Takeo Province with her family. Sokha is a cake seller earning $5 per day, while her husband, a motor taxi driver, earns $10 per day. Every month, she has to spend $42 on food, $2 on electricity, $5 on school fee, $5 on transportation, and $5 on other expenses.

Sokha is requesting a loan of $500 to buy a Tok Tok in order to offer Tok Tok (taxi) service in Phnom Penh. This loan will help her husband start a new career that can earn more income for the family, part of which she wants to use re-build her house to improve their living conditions.
