A loan of $1,200 helped a member to buy chicks and heating equipment.

Mukai Group's story

Enesta is 59 years old and lives in Gweru. Her husband does not work and they have four children, all of whom have finished school. They care for three further dependents. Enesta rears and sells chickens and has been doing so for 20 years. She has four employees. An irregular power supply can make it hard to keep the young chicks warm. She supplements her income by growing and selling vegetables. Enesta will invest the money that she borrows by purchasing additional chicks and heating equipment. She hopes that her business will continue to expand and that she will be able to buy her own truck to supply a wide range of shops.
