A loan of $600 helped to buy merchandise like rice, sugar, noodles, and cutlery.

Antonieta's story

Antonieta is a member of the Bellavista Communal Bank, which is located in the Puno district, Puno province and department. She is 57 years old, separated, and has two independent children. She has a high school education.

She has been working with the Movimiento Manuela Ramos for four years. Her first loan was for 300 soles, which she invested in her business of selling food (restaurant).

With the new loan of 1,600 soles she will buy merchandise and supplies like rice, sugar, noodles, cutlery, glasses, and other utensils. She oversees cooks and employees. She also has family pensioners in her house, and they generate other income.

Her dream is to set up a restaurant that serves seafood and pork crackling in her house. She also dreams of expanding her business.

What she likes about the communal bank is the solidarity, the responsibility, and the punctuality.
