A loan of $3,875 helped a member to purchase cheese and milk for resale.

Santa Lucia Group's story

The communal bank named "Santa Lucia" was formed by the union of a number of neighbors and friends from the city of Mariano Roque Alonso. All of them were interested in improving their personal and their family lives. They hope to give their families a better quality of life, since they don't want their children to go through the same need that they themselves experienced. The members are modest women who formed a group to be able to work shoulder to shoulder to achieve their proposed objectives and to be able to work jointly on activities that will strengthen their friendships.
One of the members is Señora Mercedes. She makes her living selling cheese and milk, with which she is able to support her household and meet her daily expenses. In addition, she states that she always has a lot of customers and orders.
Señora Mercedes is requesting the loan to purchase milk and cheese, with which she will be able to stock up to meet her customers' demand.
