A loan of $200 helped to buy wholesale soft drinks and other products.

Florencia's story

Florencia is a member of the La Yunguyeñita Communal Bank, located in the district and province of Yunguyo and the Department of Puno. She is 37 years old, married, and has six children. She completed up to her third year of secondary school.

Florencia has always worked selling groceries and also travels to the city of Arequipa, bringing detergents and shampoo. At the same, she also works raising pigs. She has worked with Movimiento Manuela Ramos for three loan cycles and her most recent loan was for 300 Peruvian Nuevos Soles (PEN), which she invested in her grocery business.

With this new loan of 500 Peruvian Nuevos Soles (PEN), she will purchase a variety of products to sell in the city of Arequipa, including wholesale soft drinks. Her children and husband, who works as a builder in the city of Arequipa, help her with the business. Florencia would like to have more capital to buy a car to offer services, thus generating additional income.

One thing she likes about the communal bank is the loan facility and the savings.
