A loan of $550 helped to buy wholesale fabric and frames.

Nancy's story

Mrs. Nancy is a member of the communal bank "Siete Estrellas" in the Calleria District, department of Ucayali. She is 56, married and has four adult children who have families.

She is one of the founding members of the communal bank and used her previous loans to invest in the the business that now employs her and her children, daughters-in-law and sister. They make decorations with fabric and balloons and usually work on weekends. The new loan in the amount of 1,500 PEN will be used to buy: 20 meters of red fabric, 20 meters of gold fabric, 20 meters of orange fabric, 20 meters of blue fabric, 50 meters of white fabric, 10 boxes of tacks and 15 frames.

All of the purchases will be used in the business because the materials are needed to make two decorations a day. Her assistants are the ones who actually carry out the work, since she is the one who gets the contacts.

Thanks to Manuela Ramos she has an additional income in her household. The best part is that she is providing employment to other people.
