A loan of $800 helped to expand her business, to fix up the place where she sells, and to get more merchandise.

Beatriz Maura's story

Beatriz Maura is 37 years old and single. She lives with her mother and her two children, ages four and two. They live Ventanas, a province of Ríos.

The “Luchar para Triunfar” (Strive for Triumph) Communal Bank is located in the La Poza sector of the 10 de Noviembre housing community in the Ventanas canton. The members of the group earn their living in a variety of areas from agriculture to commerce.

Beatriz sells costume jewelry. She buys the merchandise in Guayaquil, and she sells it in Ventanas.

She is requesting the loan to expand her business, to fix up the place where she sells, and to get more merchandise. The loan will be very helpful to her in order to easily be able to get more merchandise and to make the repairs on her place.

The challenges that she frequently faces are the competition. Her dream is to be able to support her family financially and to come to be a good merchant.

In her free time she likes to play sports, especially volleyball.
