Mrs. Ngo was born in Kompot Province, Cambodia. She has resided in this province since 1980, and this is where she works as a rice cultivator. From this business, she earns approximately $3 each day.
She is married to Mr. Sros, who generates income as a sugar-palm tree climber. This humble couple has been blessed with five children, two of whom are single, and the other three are already married and live independently.
Mrs. Ngo also has a second economic activity: raising pigs. She has been doing this for several years, and it is going very well for her thanks to the persistence she brings to her work. To earn a living, she has discussed with her family purchasing more piglets, but they are lacking some money so they wish to request some funds through HKL's partnership with Kiva. They hope that these funds will make their family meet happiness and prosperity and have a larger house. This is her first loan with Kiva and her second loan with HKL. They are grateful to all donors in advance.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
