A loan of $750 helped to buy construction materials (rebar, sand, stone, iron, etc.).

Antonio's story

Antonio was born in Ribau in the province of Nampula in northern Mozambique. He is married and the father of four children who are still in school. He went to school through the twelfth grade but dropped out to serve in the military. He and his family live in their own home, and he also supports his parents, sending money to help them pay for food.

He left Ribau for the military and has been a soldier for more than 29 years. He earns a salary of 14,125 meticals a month, with which he covers household expenses and is able to save a small amount in his bank account
He's had loans from other banks (BIM), which he paid off without any problems. He learned about Hluvuku from friends who are also clients of the institution. This is his fifth loan with Kiva, in the amount of 20,000 meticals, which he will use to buy construction materials (rebar, sand, stone, iron, etc.) to continue work on his house. His first loans were in the amounts of 13,000, 17,000, 7,000, and 16,000 meticals, and he used them all to build his house.
He hopes to ask for further loans from Hluvuku to finish his house so he can provide his family with a more comfortable life.
