Marcelino Group's story

The group “M.” consists of the following people: Don Jesús, Doña Juana, Don Fidencio and Doña Andrea. They decided to so name the group because they are family and all bear the surname M.. Señor Jesús who is the group representative says that it is the first time they have a loan and they hope that it goes very well as they really need the help to improve their quality of life by means of their businesses and activities. Don Jesús is 27 years old and has been married to Senora Andrea for 10 years. Together they have 3 children: Jacqueline who is 8 and in the 4th grade, Paola who is 6 and in 1st grade and Jose Antonio who is 4 and in the 2nd year of pre-school. Señor Jesús started his business because he finds it very hard to pay for his children's schooling. In addition he is also studying a computer course as he thinks it is important to continue learning for life. Don Jesús has had an underwear business for 10 years. He runs the business 3 days a week: Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. He has a stall at the local market on these days as the open air market takes place then and it is easier to make some money. This time he is asking for a loan to buy socks, stockings, underwear for ladies and men. As the problem he currently has is competition, he thinks that it is important to stock the latest underwear at better prices so that he attracts more customers as customers look for low prices and good quality clothing. In this case, his goal is to improve the quality of his product as well as offer a better price to increase his number of customers. The rest of the group will invest their loans in other activities for example: Doña Juana will buy plastic products and haberdashery; Don Fidencio will buy fantasies and toys. Andrea will invest in buying babies' clothing.
