Santa Catarina Group's story

This group consists of 12 indigenous members who are involved in different economic activities. This group is called Santa Catarina and its members are women who have the strength to succeed and get ahead. They are honourable and hardworking people with a desire to excel.

The group representative is Senora Raquel who started work from a very early age as her family is poor.

She asked for the loan to buy shoes as they sell well. She has retail clients and needs to meet their orders. Sometimes she gets behind with these for a lack of funds. She is happily married to Senor Gerardo with whom she has 3 children: a girl and 2 boys who attend primary school. She likes supporting and giving her children a better quality of life as it is for them that she works every day.

She thanks her husband for his support as with his help she was able to set up her busineses and between the two of them they can improve their own and their children's lives.
