A loan of $1,200 helped to buy construction materials to improve her roof and a small wall in front of her house, making things safe for her family.

Reyna Escorcia's story

Reyna is 31 years old, married, and has two young children. Her husband is a master builder.

She has her own business, which she began several years ago by selling tortillas. She decided to take her earnings and the financial help she received from her husband and reinvest them in a small grocery store, which has been open for business for two years.

Her goal is to improve her home; she has been putting up concrete walls little by little since parts are covered in corrugated iron. She hopes to improve their condition. That is why she is beginning to seek financing with Afodenic for the repair of her roof, which is in bad shape, as well as a small wall in front of the house. This will make things safer for her young children.

The materials she needs to buy are rock, sand, cement, iron, and sheets of corrugated iron. She also needs to pay for workers, as that is the only way to make the work to progress more quickly.
