A loan of $425 helped to buy 'ají dulce' (sweet pepper) and regional cilantro (coriander).

Katia Dolores's story

Katia is a member of the 'Madres Coraje' community bank which is located in Calleria district, in Ucayali department. She is 39 years old, married, and has four children. Her husband is a truck driver.

Katia has been working with Manuela Ramos loans for four years. Her business is selling regional vegetables at a market in her area. Through this work, she is able to help her husband with some of the expenses that they have at home and / or at their children's school.

Katia will use this new loan for 1,100 soles to buy one sack of 'ají dulce' (sweet peppers), 50 bunches of regional cilantro (coriander), two hundred 'caigua' (stuffing cucumbers), two kilos of charapita peppers and 20 bunches of regional string beans. These are seasonal vegetables and she must take advantage and sell them because they are in season and she can make good profits. Her husband accompanies her to the market in the morning with all her produce so that she can work.

Manuela Ramos gave Katia the opportunity to start her business and also to make the most of it, knowing how to invest.
