A loan of $1,075 helped to buy metal, lattices, and paint.

Olvin Daniel's story

Olvin Daniel is a micro-entrepreneur who makes balconies. He is 31 years old, married, and has three sons. Olvin lives in the subdivision of Poncaya in the town of Patuca.

He learned this trade from a neighbor. Olvin has a studio, which gave him the opportunity to gradually learn each of the components required to operate his business. A few years later, he decided to open his own shop but the start was difficult because he did not have the necessary tools. Olvin was not discouraged by adversity and pressed forward. He now has some work that gives him what he needs to support his family. His work schedule begins very early in the morning and ends in the afternoon. His eight-year-old son helps him when he comes home from school.

The loan Olvin is requesting will be used to buy metal, lattices, and paint. He will also pay the transportation costs to have these materials delivered to his home. Otherwise, he would have to travel to the town of Catacamas. With the help from this loan, he will be able to proceed with some of his outstanding jobs.

Olvin hopes that the economic situation in his community will improve so that he will have work to support his wife and children. He has participated in three loan cycles with FAMA and is a client who is prompt with his payments.
