A loan of $650 helped to buy beef, pork, sausage, and shellfish.

Lilian Giselh's story

Lilian is a micro-entrepreneur who sells meats, sausage, and shellfish. She is 30 years old and married, and lives with her husband in the Lempira neighborhood in the town of Juticalpa.

Lilian was born into a very hard-working family that has sold fruit and vegetables for many years. As a family of limited economic means, they weren't able to pay employees, so Lilian was very involved in the family business. Then the years went by and in March 2011 Lilian got married, and with her husband decided to open a meat, sausage, and shellfish stall in a rented place. Her husband supports her business by selling on foot while she tends the butcher shop from 6:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Lilian needs the loan to buy various types of meats such as ribs and slices of beef and pork, sausage as to make hot dogs, chorizo, mortadella, and ham, and to buy shellfish like shrimp, crab, and others. Her business will be better stocked with the support of this loan, and her customers will have many options.

Her dream is to have two children, her own house, and her own place where she won't have to pay rent. She has worked for two cycles with FAMA and has been punctual with her payments, which has helped her keep her business active.
