A loan of $950 helped to pay for additional stock of products needed in her business.

Marivic's story

This is Marivic, 32, a resident of Dasmarinas, Cavite City, Philippines. She is married to Ramil, a graphic artist, and is mother to her only child. She, together with her husband, manage their household while operating the business. At this time, she is working hard to continually provide income for her everyday expenses. Marivic operates an LPG business. What she basically does is buy liquefied petroleum gas tanks from wholesalers and sells them per tank with a little profit. LPG tanks can range from small to regular size tanks. Aside from this, she also retails electronic cellphone loads (prepaid cellphone credits) and offers direct selling products. Her regular customers are her neighbors and the local community. She earns a minimum of 2,000 Philippine pesos (PHP) in sales every day. To help her continue operation of her business, she is requesting a 41,000 PHP loan. She will be utilizing the loan to buy more stock of LPG tanks to expand her product inventory. She expects a boost in her business income as she expands her business. Marivic dreams of having other branches someday. She faithfully meets up with her co-fellowship members to share stories of her work every week, and she also draws strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies there. * All CCT community partners/clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay microfinance loans.
