Leandra's story

Leandra was born in Paucartambo Province in the city of Quiñer. She’s 67 years old, married and has four children.

Currently, Leandra lives in the city of Huancarani where she carries out her economic activities. She sells snacks on Sundays and also raises small farm animals like guinea pigs and pigs. On this occasion she needs the loan to buy guinea pigs.

The “Once de Mayo-Huancarani” (May 11-Huancarani) communal bank meets monthly in Huancarani District of Paucartambo Province, Cusco Department (Perú). Cusco is known for being a very touristy, commercial zone as well as for its traditional “Inti Raymi” festival and also because one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Machupicchu, is located here.
