Genoveva's story

Mrs. Genoveva and her family live in the Kupini area which is about 25 minutes from downtown La Paz. Her family has a small shop where they make "cholitas" , having been in business for 20 years. This type of footwear is maD. in a very traditional style and that's why they have several customers at the different fairs around the city and in the city of Alto. The cholitas are maD. from different materials but the ones used nowadays are maD. of transparent plastic and synthetic leather, with rubber soles and heels. They are very similar to slippers but worn mainly by the cholitas (wearing typical dress) who know how to appreciate traditional and well-maD. crafts such as the shoes from Mrs. Genoveva's shop. She is requesting a loan on this occasion for general maintenance of her automobile which she uses to proviD. a radio taxi service.
