A loan of $200 helped to buy beef.

Rufina Yolanda's story

Rufina is 73 years old. She is widowed, with three children who are financially independent. She works selling meat from a rented stall in a market in her area. With this business, she is following the example of her parents, who also worked in this activity, and it's in this way that Rufina has been able to move ahead in life.

It's been over 20 years since she was widowed, and at 73 years old, Rufina has shown that she is a hard-working woman who engages with full force to continue working and thus earn income, as she tells us that she supports one of her granddaughters in her education

With her end-goal of continuing to get ahead, she is requesting the loan to invest in her business by buying beef. Rufina's wish is to increase her capital so that she can rent another butcher's stall, as she knows that in this way she would be able to obtain greater earnings.

Rufina is grateful to the KIVA lenders as they have made her progress possible.
