A loan of $900 helped to buy more guinea pigs and chickens.

Benita's story

Benita was born in the city of Yanahoca (which is in Urubamba Province, in Cusco Department). Benita is 65 years old and is married; the fruits of this relationship are her five children.

For the last seven years, Benita has resided in the city of Cusco, and this is where she works. She works making "chicha D. jora" (a traditional corn liquor) and selling meals. She also has a second economic activity raising small animals, for example guinea pigs, chickens and hens. She has been doing this for several years, and it is going very well for her thanks to the persistence she brings to her work.

On this occasion, Benita is requesting the loan to buy more guinea pigs and chickens.

The "Comuzone IV" Communal Bank meets monthly in the city of Cusco (in Peru). Cusco is well-known for being an area with much tourism and commerce, for its traditional festival of Inti Raymi, and also because it is the location of Machu Picchu, one of the seven wonders of the world.
