A loan of $550 helped to buy more avocado plants.

Maura's story

Maura is 34 years old. She is a native of the city of Santa Rosa, and is a hard-working woman. She lives in her own home with her partner Efraín, aged 35, and their three beloved children, for whom she wants to provide a better quality of life.

Maura emphasizes that everything she has accomplished has been due to her tenacity and the care she gives to her crops of cocoa, coffee and avocados. She tries to give her plantations the best care possible, and as a result of that premise, many of her buyers have been been satisfied by the quality of the products she harvests. Nonetheless, she tries to do more on a daily basis, and dedicates a good amount of time to her crops. While she also has the support of her partner in her work, when it comes to harvest time it is necessary for her to hire workers to speed up the harvesting and haulage of her products. The fruit of her daily efforts is that she earns a good income.

With the requested loan, Mercedes will buy more avocado plants, as she has plans for grafting them as they grow.

Her plan for the future is to invest her income in another type of business, such as raising sheep.

This will be her first loan, and she is very happy to know that she can count on the financial support. She is ready to comply punctually with her repayment schedule. With the 1,500 New Soles requested, she will buy more avocado plants for grafting at a later point, and will make a profit from the fruit in a short time-period.
