A loan of $1,700 helped a member to buy chemical fertilizers and pay for labor to work in his rice field.

Abateranankunga Group's story

Adrien is a member of Abateranankunga Group, which means "helping themselves". He was born in Rwanda. He is married and the father of six children, aged 6 to 16. Five of his children attend school.

Adrien is a rice farmer. This is his first loan cycle with ACB. He will use his loan to buy chemical fertilizers and pay for labor to work in his rice field.

His growth strategy consists in using chemical fertilizers, cultivating a small acreage and yielding a good harvest. In the years to come Adrien would like to become one of the best rice farmers in his valley and become a major supplier in his area. He will use his profit to provide food and education to his children, and to become self-financing.
