A loan of $3,900 helped a member to increase stock of sodas, juice, water, bites (small cakes), mandanzi (like donuts), and boiled sweet potatoes.

Twitange Group's story

Hadija, who is in her mid 20s, is single with one small child. She has had a stall place for one year now where she sells sodas, juice, water and bites (like small cakes). She works from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be her fourth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to sell mandazi (fried bread similar to donuts), vitumbuwa (a breakfast dish), small ice cubes, sodas, juice, water, bites and for household expenses. She has paid back all her loans successfully. She wants a loan to increase her stock of sodas, juice, water, bites, mandanzi and boiled sweet potatoes. Her dream is to one day be able to build her own house.

She will share this loan with her loan group "Twitange" which has a total of 20 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.
