Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Rosario's story

Rosario is married and has two children. Rosario is 48 years old and lives in Corales, Jimenez, Misamis Occidental, Philippines.

To earn a living, she owns and operates a sari-sari (variety) store, selling most of the basic necessities for a household. She has run the business for over five years. Every month, she gets approximately PHP 3,000 from store operations.

Her husband is a motorcycle driver.

She has requested a loan of PHP 25,000 to buy a large number of products to sell.

Rosario has been a member of GDMPC since 2005. All previous loans she took out from the cooperative were repaid in full. This is her 11th loan request.

In the future, Rosario hopes to expand and improve her product offerings to gain more income and sustain business operations.
