For eight years, Uktam A. has been raising cattle, as well as growing potatoes and carrots. He has 15 hectares of land. His wife and oldest son help him during the planting season. He also manufactures wooden plows. In his village, this wooden plow is very popular, because it is affordable for the residents of this rural area. Uktam is planning to spend the income he generates from these activities to pay the fees for the education of his children, as he has three of them.
Uktam is planning to purchase two cows for breeding. He also wants to improve the winter conditions for his cattle, because this year it is unusually cold in Tajikistan. For this purpose, Uktam requests $900 for the term of 12 months. This is his second loan, and the previous one was managed accurately.
