Mohamad is a 61-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and only child who is still attending school. He has owned a mini-market in his village since 2007. He sells dairy products, juices, soft drinks, bread etc. Today, he is requesting to borrow $1,200 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to increase his store’s inventory of food products and groceries. In the future, he plans to enlarge his shop and add new foodstuffs to sell.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
