A loan of $750 helped to buy more coffee seeds.

Rebeca's story

Rebeca is 29, and from the city of Santa Rosa. She is a hard-working woman who lives in her own house with her partner Raúl, 32, and their two dear children; Maida, who is nine, and Aurelio who is four. Their children are the reason for all their efforts. Rebeca is industrious, and every day she tries very hard to do her best for the members of her family. She is a farmer, and grows coffee and cacao.

She has been doing this work for five years, with great care and diligence. Thanks to the harvest that her crops provide, she bought another block of land in order to continue farming. At harvest and at weeding time she has to hire day laborers, in order to get the planned work done more quickly.

Part of her land is not cultivated, and inevitably, support from a financial institution is required to carry forward the work. She plans to sow her lands with more coffee plants, and for that reason applied for one of the loans that MFP makes available to low income people looking to progress in their lives. In time, she hopes to buy more land.

This is her second loan, and she is very happy to know that she will have financial support. In this way she will feel confident of moving forward with her plan. She will use the loan to buy more coffee seeds.
