Rosa's story

Rosa, 33, is a kind, responsible woman and a single mother of an 8-year-old boy. They live in their own house. Her greatest desire is to give her son a good education. Rosa works as a seamstress in her house where her customers come to place their orders. She is very creative and gives all her work novel designs. She has two sewing machines and an overlock machine. The second sewing machine and the overlock were purchased with the first loan she had through the institution. She has been in business for ten years and works alone when demand is low. When she has many orders she has to hire two people who know their work well and have sewing expertise. Rosa has always enjoyed sewing and knowing that she is free to create her own designs. She hopes to set up her own sewing shop one day and produce larger things. This will be her eighth loan through MFP. She is happy working with her group because all the members are responsible. She is very grateful for the opportunity to invest in her business. The loan will be used to buy fabric, thread, lace and closures.
