A loan of $1,100 helped to buy bags of fertilizer and to hire day laborers.

Milton's story

Forty-eight-year-old Milton is a very kind and hardworking man. He is separated from his partner, but as they bought a house together, they both live in it with their children. Milton's work consists of planting and harvesting citrus fruits, as well as vegetables. He has been growing the latter for more than 25 years, while he has been growing citrus fruits for 10 years. He does good work on his land, which is why he produces large, good produce that is in high demand from his buyers in the city's wholesale market. He likes his business and loves being in contact with nature in the fields as he grew up there and it has become his source of development and income. His customers know the quality of his produce and they pay him what he asks, but at the moment he has a big project; he would love to introduce modern technology to his citrus planting by putting in an automatic irrigation system and digging a tubular well to produce better results. This will be his ninth loan with MFP, as he considers the institution to be of great help with his investments. He will use the requested total to prepare his land by buying fertilizers and to hire day laborers.
