Cecilia is 44 years old and lives in the village of Panduman, Tukuran, Zamboanga Del Sur, Philippines. She is widowed with 4 school-aged children.
To earn a living, Cecilia has a business selling salted fish and dried fish. She has been renting a space in the town market for over five years. She wakes up early in the morning to start the business operations. She treats her customers very well. She earns about PHP 8,400 each month for her work.
Cecilia has requested a loan of PHP 7,000 at GDMPC to purchase additional stocks of salted and dried fish to sell.
Cecilia has been a member of GDMPC since 2008. This is the fourth loan transaction made in GDMPC. She has successfully repaid all the previous loans taken out from the cooperative. In the future, Cecilia would like to expand business outlook to obtain more income and to improve the general living condition of the family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
