A loan of $750 helped to buy seeds for planting beans and to hire workers to plow the land.

Luz's story

Luz is 55 years old. She is a woman who is cheerful, responsible, and most of all, hardworking. Luz is married and lives in her own home with her husband and a grandson that she is raising. She also wants to provide him with an education and a better quality of life. Her work involves planting beans, corn, “camu camu” (a berry native to the Amazon rainforest), and other products. The “camu camu” berries are grown on a farm near her home and on land located in another district near the city. Luz works alongside her husband and her grandson. During the planting season, she hires workers to help her with preparing the land. She hires them again during the harvest season to help with gathering produce. What she enjoys most about her work is that she has plenty of time to devote to other activities. However, when she sells her products, some of the wholesalers want to offer her a very low price.

This will be her 16th loan with MFP. Luz is a founding member and has always been known for having a good payment history and being very responsible. She hopes to continue working with her Communal Bank and is very grateful that she has been given the opportunity to grow in her work. The amount she requested will be used to buy seeds for planting beans. She will also hire workers to help plow the land before planting.
