A loan of $275 helped to purchase perfumes, creams, cosmetics and jewelry.

Carmen Diocelina's story

Carmen is a member of the communal bank Damas Responsables (Responsible Women). She lives in the city of Cuenca, a city with a cold climate. The city's beautiful architecture makes it a much admired and visited city. Its people have a warm heart, are friendly, and maintain the culture and traditions of their towns.

Carmen is 35 years old. She is married and has 2 children ages 14 and 9. Her older daughter is in high school and her son attends school in the city. Her husband is a private sector employee. They do not own a home so they rent.

Carmen takes care of her children and for the past 6 months she has also cleaned houses for half-days. In her free time, she sells Yanbal products, as she has done for the past 5 years.

She has been a member of the communal bank for 2 years and this new loan will be used to purchase perfumes, creams, cosmetics and jewelry to continue with her business.

Her goals are to own her own home and to provide her children with the best education.
