A loan of $650 helped to sell clothing.

Luz Elena's story

Luz Elena is 26 and studied until primary school. She is married to Alberto, who is a bricklayer, and they have 2 sons, one in primary school and the other in pre-school in their community. They live in an area characterized by its sugar and sugar cane production.

Luz Elena tells us that she has been selling clothing for one year in order to help her husband with household expenses. She makes her sales door to door, presenting her wares and occasionally taking orders from clients and then bringing them the items they order. On those occasions, when she takes orders, she sells more women's and men’s clothing, since her friends and neighbors more often place orders and it is in this way that she makes more profits from her sales.

She needs this loan to buy women’s and men’s underwear, blouses, pants, shorts, socks, shirts, T-shirts, as well as bricklayer’s tools, to later sell them. Luz Elena hopes that with this loan her profits will increase and her business will grow more every day, thereby providing a better quality of life for herself and her family.
