A loan of $575 helped to buy candies for her snack bar and sacks of manure for her crops.

Donata's story

Donata is from Pariahuanca, a small village which is located to the west of the city of Huancayo. She lives there with her husband and six children. Donata has been farming since she was a girl. She learned the value of hard work from her parents and, over the years, she has been faithfully applying this value to her daily life. Now that she is a married woman, Donata works with her husband selling sweet treats from a snack bar in a school in their village. They have been in this business for three years. The entire family works hard to improve their service. Their main customers are children. Donata also farms. She grows a variety of regional crops and this allows her to make profits at harvest time. Donata is really happy that she is able to keep her family united in the work that they carry out. She always needs an increase in capital for her businesses which will allow her to continue investing and growing.

This is the third time that Donata has requested a loan from MFP. She was invited to join the group by her neighbors who are members of the community bank. She believes that each loan represents an opportunity for growth. She will invest her loan in buying sacks of manure for her crops. She will also use part of her loan to buy more candies for her snack bar.
