Mohamed's Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT) is a partner of Kiva.org based in Makeni, a city in northern Sierra Leone. We are very pleased to present to you this group of teachers from one of the primary schools in Waterloo, a small town near Freetown, where “Shine on Sierra Leone” has partnered with us to start a branch. This group of teachers would like to receive a loan of 7,900,000 SLL from Kiva lenders in order to meet their immediate financial challenges. At the end of each month, they will then repay the loan using their monthly salaries.

Mohamed is the leader of this group. The 35-year-old was born in Pujehun district. He is married to a housewife and the couple has two children. Mohamed has requested a loan of 500,000 SLL in order to buy house-building materials like cement, sand, stones, etc. for the completion of the house-building project he has begun.
