A loan of $375 helped to buy several kilos of potatoes.

Lina's story

Lina, aged 27, is a happy woman. She and her husband Eutemio take care of their beautiful twin boys, Andy and Ronaldo. She looks after them with all the love possible, in her own home which is located in the Cascuto area.

"The treasure of a family is its children"; with this phrase, Lina starts to tell us about her commercial business. Everyday she heads to the fields to care for her agricultural land, where she grows potatoes, peas and lima beans. These earn her good income, and at each harvest, she negotiates the sales price in the central market in her city. She earns good income, selling her agricultural products at retail on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, so as to earn better profits. She also sells sheep and pigs that she raises.

Her husband Eutemio works in a mine in the north of the country, where he receives a fixed salary. They are both moving ahead in life, and very soon they would like to increase her production. Her goals are to plant crops on a large scale and to be able to sell them in the capital. In this way she will be able to provide her children with a better quality of life, and in this manner help them get ahead.

She belongs to the communal bank "Miraflores de Casacoto", and this is her fourth loan with MFP. She is very happy to be working with the communal bank, as the members support her in getting ahead in life. For this reason, she promises to be punctual with her repayments.

On receiving the support, Lina will invest the requested money in buying several kilos of potatoes that have been harvested elsewhere, so as to continue selling them.
