A loan of $800 helped to purchase more beans and corn.

Julia's story

Ms. Julia is a 23-year-old woman who is married to Mr. Juan Marín, a farmworker, and has three children: Paulo, Adan and Adalilia. The boys are both in school. The eldest is in his second year of grade school and the other is in the second year of preschool. Her daughter is just 4 months old. Julia has been selling corn for 3 years.
Ms. Julia says that she started this business because she wanted to find a way to help her husband out with the household expenses and her son with his education. She also wants to improve their quality of life. She will invest this loan in purchasing more beans and corn so that she can continue with her business.
Her business goal, which she hopes to be able to achieve, is to invest much more money into it in order to make it grow quickly, since she wants to build a business space so that she can set up a general store, thus increasing her profits a bit more.
She gives thanks to FRAC and to the Kiva lenders for the trust that they have given her. Thanks to this support, she is now able to offer her children a better quality of life and to continue to invest in her business to make it better.
