A loan of $1,100 helped to buy sacks of fertilizer.

Jhon's story

23-year-old Jhon is a hard-working young man. He lives together with his dad Dionisio, his mom Telma, and his two younger siblings, who he supports financially, in their own home which is located in the small village of Bellavista Muruhuay. Since he was very young, Jhon helped his parents in getting rid of the weeds that grew constantly amongst their crops. He learned everything he needed to know about the farming business from his family.

Some time ago, Jhon started growing crops on his own plot of farmland. He sows pea, bean, potato and vegetable seeds. He alternates them in accordance with the sowing season. Jhon sells his harvests to wholesale middlemen in the village of Yanama. In addition, he has only a small amount of time left before he finishes his studies in the field of machinery maintenance. He invests money in this each month. When he finishes his studies, Jhon plans to work in both businesses. He has already taken the first step as he is currently working managing trucks loaded with food products which travel between the town of Satipo and the city of Lima. Jhon hopes to buy more farmland so that he can grow crops in larger quantities to help his family.

Jhon is a member of the "Señor de Muruhuay" community bank and this is his third loan from MFP. He is grateful for the support that he receives and he pledges to be punctual in making his repayments. With your support, Jhon will invest the money he has requested in buying several sacks of natural fertilizers to spread over his pea crops in large amounts.
