Esha is a single woman who owns a house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are her water and electricity bills.
For the past five years she has been operating a food café. Her potential customers are neighbors and passersby. In addition she operates a tailoring business from home which contributes as another source of income. She faces a major challenge in the seasonality of her business. She hopes to establish a retail shop in the future.
With the loan of 40,000 Kenyan Shillings (KES) she is requesting she wants to establish a water selling shop and purchase pipes, taps and an electric water meter. Esha decided to join Yehu to access loans to improve her living standards.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
